There are many great mountains in the world. The Himalayas are the king of all the mountains in the world. That is the reason why it is also called 'Giriraj'. It is the longest, widest and highest mountain. It ranges from the border of Afghanistan to Myanmar. Just as the ocean is endless, so are the Himalayas.

Himalaya is made up of two words - Himalaya - 'Him' means- snow and 'Alaya' means- home; That is, the ice house. This means that snow remains frozen in the Himalayas for 12 months. There is a Mansarovar Lake on this hill. Next to it is Mount Kailasa, which is the abode of Lord Shiva. Goddess Parvati was born in the lap of the Himalayas. The states of Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Bengal and Assam of our country are located in the foothills of the Himalayas. All the main rivers in the country like Indus, Ganga, Yamuna, Kosi and Brahmaputra originate from the Himalayas. The name of its highest peak is Everest, which reaches 29,000 meters. Sherpa Tensingh was the first person to climb the mountain in 1953.


The breathtaking view of the Himalayas is considered unparalleled in the world. East Darjeeling and West Kashmir are a sight to watch. Travellers from far and wide gather in Darjeeling to witness the morning spectacle. When the yellow rays of the sun falls on the snow, the whole mountain begins to shine like gold; Then, in no time, it becomes a mountain of money. Similarly, the tea plantations of the Himalayan region, lush forests, waterfalls in various places, the melodious sounds of various animals and birds are mind-blowing. Dehradun, Nainital, Shimla and Mussoorie are unique hill stations in their own. Badrinath trek is done only in Himalayas. Kashmir in the lap of the Himalayas is heaven on the earth. Thousands of tourists go there every year to enjoy the natural beauty of Kashmir.

7. Many wild animals are found in the Himalayan region, whose skin, meat and bones are valuable. 

8. The Himalayas protect the country from enemies from the north. 

9. The Himalayas have inspired poets because of their beauty and natural beauty. 

10. It also affected the poet Kalidas in particular.
