Koushani Mukherjee was born on 17 May 1992 (Sunday) in Kolkata, West Bengal, India into a middle-class Bengali family to her father Rana Mukherjee, who is an income tax officer, and her mother Sangita Mukherjee, who is housewife. Mukherjee is the only child of her parents. She did her schooling at the Assembly of God Church School, Park Street, Kolkata, and went to Heramba Chandra College, Kolkata to complete her further studies and completed her Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree.

After completing her B.Com, in the year 2015, she participated in the P.C. Chandra Goldlites Diva and emerged as the winner of the competition. She even gained the ‘Beautiful Smile’ and ‘Beautiful Hair’ sub-titles in the competition. Thereafter, she was noticed by leading production houses of Bengal and noted director Raj Chakraborty, who offered her roles in Bengali films.

Talking about Koushani’s love life, she is in a relationship with Bengali actor Bonny Sengupta for the last eight years. The duo met for the first time at Raj Chakrabarty’s office, and they were both dating someone else at that time. But when they started shooting, they realized that they were falling for each other. Kaushani has said that she is very filmy and whenever she gets married, she will do it in Bali and there will be a grand reception.

Koushani Mukherjee began her acting career in the year 2015 with the Bengali film named “Parbona Ami Chartey Tokey”, which was released on 10 September 2015, in which Koushani acted as the character of ‘Aparna Roy.’ The film was a super hit and established Koushani as an actress. Subsequently, Koushani acted in the romantic comedy “Kelor Kirti”. She acted as the character of a wealthy young woman, Anushka, who falls in love with a journalist in the film.
